 It is a time for remembrance, as both the old team and new team get together to remember the battle against Myotismon. It is a time to remember fallen friends and good memories.
But there's something strange going on around the city. As the Digidestined revisit their memories, they find their paths crossing at one place, lured by the echoes of one who is but a shadow.
Gatmon's resolve is tested as she finds out how deep the bonds of friendship can go.

 This is it. The Digidestined are taking the battle to its ultimate conclusion. Realizing that they must take a desperate stance against the Digimon Emperor, the Digidestined decide to stay inside the Digital World until they have won.
Matt, Izzy and Tai help cover for them in the real world while the new generation enters the Digital World. But the battle is more ferocious than Yolei had anticipated, and her eagerness ends up getting Hawkmon injured.

 The Digidestined have found the Digimon Emperor's new floating headquarters. But they make two shocking new discoveries. One is that one of their greatest enemies is still alive, the second is a horrifying monstrosity called Kimeramon, a Digimon created by the Digimon Emperor.
Kimeramon has the traits of some of the most powerful Digimon fused into one. How can the Digidestined stop it.
T.K. decides that he must try to do this alone and he heads off to confront the Digimon Emperor. One way or another, T.K. will make sure that nobody gets hurt this time.

 The Digimon Emperor begins his final attack on the Digital World. Innocent villages are being destroyed and lives are in danger. The Digidestined launch their final assault on the floating base.
However, even with the aid of Agumon, Tentomon and Gabumon, they find that they are helpess against the might of Kimeramon. Kimeramon easily defeats all of them despite their best efforts.
It would take a miracle to save them now.....
