 Seven Digidestined children are summoned to the digital world. Teamed up with seven partner Digimon, they are given the task of saving the digital world. Only then can they find a way back home.
But before they have a chance to take a breath, they are instantly attacked by an enemy Digimon.

 The 7 children have barely had the chance to catch their breath when they are attacked by a new enemy. Shellmon appears and easily overwhelms the weaker Rookie Digimon. Tai's desperate need gives Agumon the power to digivolve into...Greymon.

 Finally catching a break, the Digidestined find an abandoned train car where they can rest.
The rest of the children learn that Matt and T.K. are half-brothers and their parents recently divorced. Matt is unsure how to be a big brother to T.K., and acts both cold and protective of him at the same time.
Unfortunately for the Digidestined, the train car is on the back of Seadramon, who doesn't take kindly to kids sleeping on his back. Matt risks his life to save T.K., and his devotion to his brother allows Gabumon to digivolve into Garurumon and defeat Seadramon

 The Digidestined encounter a village that is being menaced by Meramon. Meramon used to be a good Digimon that helped protect the village but has somehow become evil.
None of the Digimon are able to hurt Meramon, and Agumon and Gabumon are too new at digivolving to digivolve again.
Biyomon and Sora take the initiative, and Biyomon digivolves into Birdramon to stop Meramon. After the battle, they discover that Meramon was being controlled by a black gear, which has the power to corrupt good Digimon.
