 Escaping once more Etemon, the Digidestined find a strange sight, a cruise ship in the middle of a desert.
Tired and thirsty, they board it to find Kokatorimon, who claims to be a friend. But this is all a trap set up by Etemon. Kokatrimon captures all of the Digidestined except for Mimi and Sora, who manage to turn the tables on their foul fowl.
Afterwards, Mimi finds the Crest of Sincerity.

 The Digidestined have found a new teacher, Piximon. Piximon is reknowned throughout the Digital World as a master trainer of Digimon. He puts the entire team through a grueling routine, but focuses on Tai and Agumon.
Ever since Agumon digivolved into SkullGreymon, he has not been able to digivolve at all. Pixie helps the two of them realize the mistakes they've made, and how their fears have led their friendship to become weaker.
They are able to to reaffirm their friendship and Agumon can once again digivolve just in time to save his friends.
During the battle, Matt and Izzy find the Crests of Friendship and Realiability.

 The Digidestined strike out for their final confrontation with Etemon. But Sora is kidnapped by one of Etemon's henchmen, Datamon. Datamon plans to use Sora to defeat Etemon and take his place. He will clone Sora and use the clone to control Biyomon. Sora refuses to believe this could happen.
T.K. and Joe find the Crest of Hope and Reliability.

 Sora is rescued by her friends and finds the Crest of Love. The Digidestined and Etemon meet for the last time, as they use all of the tricks they've learned since they arrived.
However, Etemon is still too powerful and tosses aside their attacks. Datamon also takes the opportunity to add to the havok and attacks Etemon.
Tai refuses to give up and his courage gives Greymon the strength to digivolve into MetalGreymon. MetalGreymon defeats Etemon, but he and Tai end up getting sucked into a vortex.
